Deep Space Nine: The Final Chapter2: 'Til Death Do Us Part
While explaining his Prophet vision to Jake, Sisko gets a surprise visit from Kai Winn, who offers to perform the wedding ceremony. Sisko tells Winn about his vision, except for the Prophets warning him not to wed. Before going to her guest quarters Winn has what she believes is her first ever Prophet vision, the Prophets say that the Emissary has faltered and she must bring about "the Restoration of Bajor". They also tell her to wait for a guide who will carry the "wisdom of the land". While Worf and Dax remain imprisoned on the Breen ship, on Cardassia Weyoun tells a heavily hung over Damar to prepare to leave but does not tell him where they are going. He also tells Damar that he knows about Dukat's visit. Damar later meets with Dukat to give him forged ID documents. Dukat points out how Weyoun is controlling Damar and says that Damar needs to be a strong leader for Cardassia. Dukat says that he now serves the Pah-Wraiths. A short time later Dukat in his Bajoran cosplay arrives on DS9. Sisko tells Kasidy about his vision and the warning from the Prophets. Kasidy tells Sisko to ignore the warning but Sisko says he can't marry her. Kasidy takes off her engagement ring and leaves. On the Breen ship the Breen enter the holding cell, stun the prisoners and take Worf away. Dukat, under the alias Anjohl Tennan, a farmer from Relliketh, seeks an audience with Kai Winn. Winn believes he is the "guide" sent by the Prophets. In the office Sisko tells Kira that the wedding is off, she says he did the right thing, but he isn't sure. He believes that marrying Kasidy may be a mistake, but it is his mistake to make. On the Dominion ship Weyoun is greeted by the female Founder, who is noticeably weak and struggling to maintain her solid form. In the holding cell Worf comes to and remembers that a cortical implant was used to probe his memories. The Breen enter and take Ezri. Dukat as Anjohl tells Winn the story of how he survived the occupation-a Cardassian officer misread orders and rerouted a transport full of Bajorans to be executed. Winn, in shock, reveals that she had bribed the Cardassian officer to reroute the transport. She believes Dukats idea that their fates are connected. Quark delivers the wedding ring Sisko ordered. The Breen bring Ezri back, she drifts in and out of consciousness. She murmurs incoherently, at one point saying "kiss me, Julian", angering Worf. Dukat visits Winn's quarters late at night, telling her of a miracle at his farm, now run by his brother. Winn say this is a sign for him to stay with her. She tells Dukat to call her by her given name Adami. Dukat and Winn kiss. Sisko meets Kasidy at the airlock as her freighter has just docked. He say he wants to marry her, regardless of the Prophet's warning. She accepts and they quickly arrange a ceremony in the wardroom with Admiral Ross performing the wedding. Sisko has a vision as he is about to give his vows, the Sarah Sisko prophet warns him again not to marry. Sisko completes the vows and he and Kasidy are married. Worf confronts Ezri about her feelings for Bashir, but they are interrupted by the Breen who beam both of them away. They materialize on a Dominion ship where they witness the birth of the alliance of the Dominion and the Breen. They are turned over to the Dominion as "gifts".
Ok. The plot thickens. Sisko has Prophet-induced cold feet over his impending wedding. Dukat cosplays as a Bajoran and worms his way into Kai Winns favor. Opinion: the Dukat-Winn kiss is one of the creepiest moments of the whole series. Ewww!!! Yikes!! The Breen question is answered: they are allies of the Dominion now. Yikes!! This in itself opens up many more questions. Ezri and Worf are given to the Dominion as gifts by the Breen (after being interrogated and mentally probed). They also continue sparring over their feelings for each other and Ezris hitherto unrecognized feelings for Bashir. After some back and forth Sisko says "damn the Prophets, full speed ahead" and marries Kasidy, bringing to fruition a nearly 4 year relationship. Seeing Sisko and Kasidy get married after all this time and before the end of the series is very satisfying.
Quote:
Weyoun: You should be honored. You're witnessing an historic moment. The birth of the alliance between the Dominion and the Breen. Changes everything, doesn't it?
