Barclay’s transporter phobia leads to the rescue of a starship crew stranded in the transporter beam realm. B
129 Man of the People
The skeevy ambassador who uses others to hold his violent emotions while he completes his negotiations. Until the unwilling victims hyperage and die. No surprise, Troi is his next (and last) victim. D
130 Relics
Scotty! Investigating a wrecked ship on the surface of a giant Dyson Sphere the crew discover Montgomery Scott suspended in the transporter beam for 75 years. Great, touching episode, especially all the Scotty/Geordi scenes and the recreation of the TOS bridge on the holodeck. S tier, no contest.
131 Schisms
Another episode with strong horror vibes. Riker and other crewmembers are kidnapped from the Enterprise during the night and experimented on by aliens who live in subspace. A
132 True Q
A young woman travelling as a guest on the Enterprise turns out to be a “Q ingénue”. In the end she’s forced to choose whether to go with Q to be with the continuum or to never use her powers, even for good. B
133 Rascals
A shuttlecraft trip through an anomaly turns Picard, Guinan, Keiko O’Brien and Ro Laren into children. While it has some good moments, the episode once again proves that the Ferengi make poor adversaries. Also: no surprise that the transporter is what reverts the 4 characters to adults. B

Datas
A holodeck malfunction makes all the characters in Worf and Alexander’s Wild West holodeck program look like Data. Some good acting by Brent Spiner in this one. B
135 Quality of Life
The repair drone “Exocomps” become sentient. A look at the man vs machine, computers vs life argument a-la “Measure of a Man”. C
136 Chain of Command
part 1
Picard is relieved of command and sent on an undercover mission. He gets captured by Cardassians. Meanwhile the replacement captain acts like a dick to the crew. A

part 2
“THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!” The conclusion of the two parter. The interrogation scenes with Patrick Stewart opposite the late, great David Warner…what else needs to be said? A
138 Ship in a Bottle
The sequel to “Elementary Dear Data”. Moriarty returns and traps crewmembers in the holodeck by making them think they’re not in the holodeck. B
139 Aquiel
The investigation of the death of an officer at a relay station leads to the discovery of a coalescent lifeform. Geordi gets close with the surviving relay station officer, who also happens to be the prime suspect. C
140 Face of the Enemy
Troi forced to pose as a Romulan. Strong acting in this one, especially from Marina Sirtis and guest star Carolyn Seymour as the Romulan commander. Also, the first mention of the Tal Shiar, the Romulan intelligence/secret police. A
141 Tapestry
After his artificial heart fails, Picard dies. In the afterlife Q gives Picard a chance to see what his life might have been without the artificial heart. An interesting what-if episode. A
142 Birthright part 1
A minor TNG-DS9 crossover. The Enterprise visits DS9, Worf learns that his father may still be alive and goes to find him, discovering a group of Klingons captured after Khitomer, living in harmony with their Romulan captors. Meanwhile Data meets Bashir and discovers his dream program. B
143 Birthright part 2
The conclusion of the two parter. Worf discovers that his father did indeed die at Khitomer and learns a lot more about the Klingons and Romulans at the settlement. No mention of Datas dream program in part 2. C
144 Starship Mine
The Enterprise shuts down for a maintenance energy sweep, Picard ends up trapped onboard and has to stop terrorists from stealing toxic waste from the warp engines. A fun action episode for the captain, the Data making small talk with the visiting captain stuff is a bit cringe. C
145 Lessons
Picard gets a mature relationship with a lower ranking crewwoman on the Enterprise and later comes to terms with the ramifications of command and the relationship for both of them. Wendy Hughes does a wonderful job playing Lt. Cmdr. Nella Daren, Picard’s love interest. Also, the Flute from “The Inner Light” is a major plot point. A tier
146 The Chase
Picard’s archaeology professor comes aboard for a visit. His death shortly after leaving stats the Enterprise on a quest to solve a 4-billion-year-old DNA puzzle that explains the preponderance of humanoid life in the galaxy. A tier.
147 Frame of Mind
Riker is captured during an undercover mission on an alien planet and forced to believe that he’s trapped in an insane asylum based on one of Dr. Crusher’s plays. Great acting in this one, especially from Frakes and Spiner. A
148 Suspicions
A Beverly Crusher centric murder mystery episode. A rare deeper look at the Doctor’s character. B
149 Rightful Heir
Worf takes leave to seek spiritual answers and ends up meeting a clone of Kahless the Unforgettable. A fun, thoughtful Klingon episode that explores some deeper, less explored parts of Klingon lore. A tier
150 Second Chances
The one with the two Rikers. Visiting a planet Riker visited years ago the Enterprise discovers another Will Riker, a transporter duplicated created when Riker beamed back to his ship during an atmospheric anomaly. Lots of fun moments between Troi and Will Riker, and Troi and Thomas Riker. DS9 would follow up on Thomas Riker 2 years later. A
151 Timescape
Another fun timey wimey episode. Time is broken, freezing, moving forward and backwards at different rates. And Romulans. B
152 Descent part 1
A separated-from-the-collective group of Borg and the return of Lore. And Data being manipulated by emotions. Overall a fun romp. A tier.
