Picard and Crusher are captured on a mission to assess a planet inhabited by two paranoia driven nation states for one state’s Federation membership. Implants put on Picard and Crusher by their captors allow them to hear each others thoughts, causing them to become closer. This episode marks a turning point in their relationship. B

During a search and rescue mission the Enterprise is boarded by scientists who claim that warp drive is damaging subspace and affecting their planet. One of the scientists resorts to extreme measures to get her message across. B
162 Inheritance
Data meets his “mother” the ex-wife of Dr. Noonien Soong. It turns out that she is in fact an android, built by Dr. Soong when his wife was injured and dying after the attack on Omicron Theta. B
163 Parallels
On the way back to the Enterprise Worf goes through an anomaly which causes him to start shifting between different quantum realities. An interesting take on alternate universes/alternate timelines. A
164 The Pegasus
Riker’s first CO comes aboard on a mission to find the ship he and Riker served on together which disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Admiral Pressman (Terry O’Quinn) wants to salvage a top-secret illegal experiment, a prototype cloaking device from the ship despite the Federation cloaking device being in violation of a treaty with the Romulans. Great acting, great writing, interesting explanation for why Federation ships don’t have cloaking devices. S
165 Homeward
After sending a distress call to summon the Enterprise, Worf’s foster brother Nikolai violates the Prime Directive by beaming a group of bronze age villagers from the dying planet that he has been studying to the Enterprises holodeck to prevent their deaths. B
166 Sub Rosa
Following the funeral for her grandmother, Beverly Crusher meets he grandmother’s much younger lover, who turns out to be an energy being who lives in a family heirloom candle and has been exploiting the women of the Howard family for centuries. Beverly has “sex” with the energy being. W…T…F tier.
167 Lower Decks
An episode that follows a group of junior officers on the Enterprise. A fun refreshing concept. Shannon Fill reprises her character Sito Jaxa from “The First Duty”. A
168 Thine Own Self
Data is damaged and suffers amnesia while recovering a radioactive probe from a planet with an iron age civilization. Troi takes and passes the bridge officers exam and gets promoted to commander. C
169 Masks
An ancient archive from an extinct civilization transforms the Enterprise (and Data) into elements of its civilization. Campy? Maybe. But a good showing of Brent Spiner’s range. B
170 Eye of the Beholder
A junior officers suicide in the nacelle tube and the subsequent investigation leads Troi to uncover a murder-suicide in the nacelle tube 8 years earlier when the Enterprise was under construction. B
171 Genesis
A T-cell virus spreads on the Enterprise and causes the crew to de-evolve into (mostly) earlier forms of life from their homeworlds. Science questions aside, a fun episode directed by Gates McFadden. B
172 Journey’s End
The Enterprise deals with colonists on a planet ceded to the Cardassians who are unwilling to leave their home. Wesley visits the Enterprise while on vacation from the academy. After nearly sabotaging a tense situation with the colonists and the Cardassians Wesley resigns from the academy and joins the Traveller (from “Where No One Has Gone Before” and Remembrence). The Cardassian border-Demilitarized Zone stuff sets up for DS9 and Voyager. A
173 Firstborn
A future version of Alexander travels back in time to kill his past self in an attempt to prevent Worf’s death in the future. The Duras sisters make an appearance, as does quark from DS9. B
175 Bloodlines
Daimon Bok (from “The Battle”) claims that Jason Vigo, the son of an old flame of Picards is also Picards son, in a plan to kill Jason as revenge for the death of his son at Maxia Zeta 15 years earlier. B
175 Emergence
The Enterprises computer creates an emergent lifeform. Data, Troi and Worf use the Orient Express holodeck program to understand and take control of the situation. B
176 Preemptive Strike
Ro Laren returns to the Enterprise and is assigned to infiltrate the Maquis (established on DS9). She ends up sympathizing with them and ultimately betrays Starfleet, the Enterprise and Picard in particular by sabotaging a Federation strike against the Maquis and defecting to join them. A
177/178 All Good Things…
The series finale. Q makes Picard jump between 3 different time periods (7 years in the past just before the pilot, now and a possible future 25 years from now) to solve a puzzle and save humanity. Seeing the possible future and future versions of the characters was a lot of fun, as was seeing O’Brien and Yar in the past. S tier
